The recent FDA report is a troubling publication for users of Invokana who believed their use of the drug would lessen the more devastating symptoms which can occur with diabetes. Early Invokana studies indicated that there is an increased risk for amputations for patients consuming Invokana, although further research needs to be done to find a positive link between the drug and the amputations.
